Backup password for iTunes Problem:
Today I upgraded to iTunes 11 on my iMac. I have been backing up my iPad and iPhone to iTunes for a long time and upgraded from that latest 10.x release. I have always had a password set in order to encrypt my backup. I decided that I wanted to change that password so I clicked on the “Change Password” button. It of course asks for the old password and the new password. I kept getting an error saying that the new password could not be set. I assumed it was because I was entering my old password wrong (which I knew I was not). So, I unchecked the “encrypt backups” box which prompts for the password for security reasons. I put it in and viola I was using the correct password all along. It then forces a device sync so I let it go. When complete I chose to encypt backups again so it asks for the password. No matter what password I enter I get the following message: “The password you entered to protect your iPad backup could not be set. Please try again.” Could anyone help me find the encrypted iTunes backup password?
